Hi There,

So, I thought I'd show you some of the stuff I've been doing recently.

These bangle cuff bracelets were a joy to make. I stumbled across a website that sells vintage jewelry components. The owner bought out the entire inventory of a factory that had been closed since the 60s, just boarded over and left to rot. Then a couple of years ago, Austrian urban renewal resulted in the discovery of a treasure trove of vintage crystal cup chain. I was lucky enough to get a few dozen feet or so.

The resulting bracelets are made with memory wire, so they fit even goddess-size wrists. They feature vintage Austrian crystal cup chain, wrapped with silver wire.

Thanks,

Patrice

New Altered Art Pendant Line

Hey There,

Yep, still here. :) Working a regular job these days that keeps me very busy. But I wanted to at least keep you posted on some of the items on my new website.

Below is one of my altered art/resin pendants from my "Masters' Collection." I take a little detail from famous works of art, add stuff, paint a little, and preserve them in resin. I always dreamed of wearing the "Mona Lisa" around my neck. (I'll be getting to Leonardo this year.)

So here's one of my favorite artworks to begin my "masterful" journey.

Let me know what you think!

New Website - New Jewelry!

Hi There,

I’ll bet you thought I was gone! Nope, still here. I’ve been selling in consignment shops for a few years now.

But I’ve recently finished building my own website at designsbymayanna.com. Please stop by and tell me what you think.

Here’s a view fresh from my workshop of a new batch of domino art pendants I’m in the process of completing. Different from my beaded items. Hope you like them!

Video Tutorial: Take Your Creativity from "Cheap to Chic!"

-->

Hey There!

If you like the idea of "upcycling," you are going to LOVE this video. This lady is so interesting and she really gives you a lesson in gem lore. But the best part is how to take inexpensive or old settings and remake them with better stones, upgrading both the look and the value! Super Cool!

Check this out! I got this little marvel from Liz Kreate.

Video Tutorial: Simple Wire Wrapped Ring Technique

-->

Hi There!

Well, I found this simple little video on making rings and thought I'd share it with you. I was always afraid to make rings, thinking my skills just weren't up to the challenge, but I got over that! LOL! Mainly because I found some simple techniques that were so easy to upgrade to something really impressive.

This is a technique I haven't tried yet, but I'll share the results when I do. Meantime, I hope this is helpful to you. And share your results with me when you try, okay?

I go this little gem from the Handmade Jewelry Club! Enjoy!

Video Tutorial: How to Make Beaded Chain Maille

Hi There!

I'm Baaaaack!

Never really went away, just overloaded!

I found a really cool chainmaille video for you. I love wire work, my wire stuff sells so fast in the consignment stores that it never makes it to my blog or the website. But i still find chainmaille to be a challenge. And because i like beads and color so much, i thought I'd share this simple technique with you.

Hope you like it!

Got this from www.beadaholique.com!

Holidays Are Here Again!

-->

Hello and Season's Greetings to All!

Gee, it's been a while since my last post. Guess you guys thought I'd moved away or something. Not really, just having personal issues that have been more than distracting!

But I'm back now and plan to be around a lot more in the future. I've been working on my skills while I've been on "hiatus" and I've improved! :-) I'm putting up a sample for you to see:

This cuff bracelet is made with blue crazy lace agate rounds, with pewter and silver-filled beads on memory wire. Makes a great gift!

Thanks for being around and I'll be back soon. Got some new things in the works to share with you!

Have a fabulous Holiday Season!!!

Video Tutorial - Boho Hoop Earrings from Memory Wire

-->
Hey There!

Here's a simple tutorial for making Bohemian style hoop earrings. What's different about this one for me is I always try to get the hoops already made up, memory wire wasn't on the radar. Sure would've saved me money and time! Enjoy!

Video Tutorial - Intro to Metalworking

Hey There!

Welcome to my Thursday Video Tutorial!

This is a simple metal project that illustrates a few different metal working techniques. I thought this was a novel project idea, but obviously it can be modified for a jewelry design. Pretty cool, huh?

Enjoy!
