Here's a Sneak Peek at the Newest Attractions at Designs by M'Ayanna

I've been a speculative fiction addict for more than 40 years. I was into Heinlein, Tolkien and P. K. Dick back in the days when they were considered down right weird. Now they are more than acceptable, they're fashionable. This is due in no small part to today's fascination  with the industrial revolution and the fascinating possibilites represented by that era. The influence of science fiction writers from the late 19th century like Wells and Verne is still alive today in steam punk fashion and lifestyle. I'm putting my own spin on the style as part of my New Vintage collection.

Skeleton keys are a big part of the steam punk look. This 3 inch brass key embellishment is combined with 25mm antique brass wheel elements, red and clear faceted glass rounds and hung from an oval linked antique brass chain. I think it's a cool, rather elegant piece and great for dress or casual wear!

Look for it and more new items at Designs by M'Ayanna!

Distant Drums, Feel the Rhythm?

Here's a new adjustable bracelet in my "Distant Drums" collection I made four of these memory wire bracelets that fit small and plus size wrists alike. I call them "Distant Drums" because they reminded me of an African drum exhibit I saw not too long ago.

This bracelet is made from red jasper rounds, green serpentine and black obsidian cubes, black glass drum pony beads and Miyuki glass cubes.

Something New!

I am so excited about regularly posting now! I'm finally getting a handle on the process and hope you are enjoying these posts! I had another creative spurt a few weeks back and I'm just getting the new pics processed and uploaded.

Here's a little number I'm pretty wild about. I hope you agree!

These are a pair of 17 mm bronze fans embellished with #15 seed beads and Deliciosa crystal bicones in fuschia and alexandrite. This experiment came out pretty, right? They've just gone up on the site, so take a look.

Thanks!

Brand New Item!

This is one of my favorite projects. I saw something similar on "All My Children". I got really excited and started thinking about how to achieve a similar effect. This is the result. Check it out!

Custom Piece

Hey There!

Here's a look at a custom piece of jewelry I recently made. It's a cute little right angle weave bracelet with a basic helix pattern and central rosettes.

The design is done with 4mm, 6mm and 8mm fire polished crystals in amethyst and rose. It's a real girly-girl number and came out better than I expected. These are so much fun to make, I'm doing a couple more, so stay tuned!

:-)

I'm Still Here!

Sorry to have been away for so long, but life does it's thing!

Anyway I've been hard at work creating new designs. I've been experimenting a bit more with beadweaving since Christmas. I've done a few things with square stitch. Check it out below:

This piece is made with 4mm pink rhodonite cubes, some lovely cream soda seed beads and AB montees. I had the square magnetic clasp and thought they worked well together. What do you think?
